April in Mendocino
from the

Oh, my! More yarn has arrived at the yarn shop. If you enjoy knitting lace or lightweight sweaters, the newest from Mirasol is Sulka Legato. The colors are overdyed, with a heathery look. We have 12 colorways to tempt you. Annelle's personal favorite new yarn is a thick and thin from Katia, Ushuaia. We still can't pronounce it but we can knit it. It takes about 20 minutes to knit a child's hat. Pamela is writing the pattern for a cute baby sweater that you can see at the store.
Classes are in full swing. If you are coming to Mendocino, check out our newsletter and facebook to see what is happening. Use links at the upper right on this page. If you are a beginning knitter, try the cable beanie hat. There are two sweater classes and, for the more experienced knitter, Entrelac. If there is a class or technique that you want to try, let us know and we'll try to arrange it for you. The Carin Engen felting workshop on Sat. April 5th still has room for two more. Carin is an expert felting teacher and will be teaching hats, purses and slippers this time.
Our community project this spring is helping with a yarn bombing of Mendocino. The project is a collaboration of local merchants, Mendocino Art Center and Streetcolor. If you want to participate, e-mail us and we will tell you how you can be involved. The installation will go up June 8 and will be taken down Aug. 8th.
We have also added counted cross stitch kits. I like the wine bottle cozies with stitched flowers.
See you at the shop, and Happy Knitting and Crocheting, Annelle
